IT Officer, Horn of Africa (Somali Nationals)

Reporting to the Horn of Africa Operations Manager, this Hargeisa-based position provides first-line IT and application support to INSO offices in Kenya and Somalia, working with the headquarters IT team. Responsibilities include installing operating systems, printers, networks and applications; monitoring network performance; troubleshooting in person, by phone and remotely; supporting Office 365, Exchange Online, Adobe and ArcGIS access/licensing; maintaining SharePoint folders and permissions; ensuring IT procurement meets global standards; and keeping equipment assets and stock records current with logistics. The officer trains new staff, develops application tutorials, helps deploy new technology, supports IT budgeting, mitigates system security risks, and monitors third-party software usage, renewals and billing. Education and experience: degree or equivalent in IT, Computer Science or a relevant discipline, plus at least three years supporting IT services in a medium or large internationally focused organization. Required skills include Windows, Office 365, Exchange Online, Microsoft Intune, SharePoint Online, local networks, Adobe and ArcGIS installation/licensing, and fluent written and spoken English and Somali. A relevant master's degree, Microsoft certifications, NGO experience and remote-support experience are advantages. The role requires analytical problem solving, strong communication, listening and questioning, organization, independent working, accountability, meeting deadlines, humanitarian awareness and protection of information from unauthorized access.
